Task 5.2

“Critical Thinking: The Soul of Communication”

How do you see communication and critical thinking impacting your future role as a leader in the workplace?

Communication being unavoidable in most if not every line of work, without achieving a certain level of communication skills, one would find that even avoiding trouble to be quite a challenge, much less having any hopes for workplace success.

Thus, if I am to succeed in a leadership or management role 10 years down the road, it is of upmost importance that I acquire, to the best of my abilities, an appropriate arsenal of communication skills and techniques. For without such, the above mention scenario might just come to pass.

But it would not be sufficient for one to just be able to communicate effectively. As if one does not speak with intent or purpose, their word would then lack any meaning and it would then be anything but easy for an understanding to be achieve or for any comprehension to be formed.

If one was to think critically and present a well thought out idea or concept instead, one will find that not only will sound reasoning and judgement came quite naturally but clear communication will also be delivered quite nicely. Therefore, saying my future will be shaped by my communications skills is not too much of a stretch.
